As small as it is, it would still take two or three days to see most of the sights in Gibraltar. One must go to the top of the rock of course and walking, driving, and cable-car are all good options to reach the summit. The roads will take you past beautiful St Michael's Cave, the 8th Century Moorish Castle, and also provide you an encounter with the famous Barbary Apes that inhabit the cliffs. From The Top you can look over to the Rif Mountains and down to the town and nearby beaches. Sightseeing is not the only option for visitors to Gibraltar, there is plenty more to see and do, from beaches and museums to pubs and casinos.

Gibraltar is a large promontory of jurassic limestone, situated in Southwestern Europe, bordering the Strait of Gibraltar, which links the Mediterranean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, on the southern coast of Spain. The 5km-long (3 mile) rock contains 143 caves, over 48km (30 miles) of road and miles of tunnels.

Although it is possible to drive around parts of the Upper Rock, the roads are narrow and winding. Traffic drives on the right. The speed limit is 50kph (31mph), except where otherwise indicated. It is compulsory to drive with dipped headlights at night.
If you are driving to Gibraltar from Spain, take the N340 (Cadiz - Malaga highway) and turn off at Junction 119 into the N351 which takes you to La Linea, the border town between Spain and Gibraltar. The border is open 24 hours a day. You can drive or walk through with no restrictions on the number of crossings per day. Entry into Gibraltar is free.
