Getting to the Maldives – flights to the Maldives
Direct flights are available with British Airways, Srilankan Airways and Monarch Airways to the Maldives from London Gatwick taking approximately 10.5 hours flying time. Alternative routes are indirect with Emirates via Duba, Qatar Airways via Doha and Swiss air via Zurich.
All international flights land at Male Airport and then passengers are transferred to a speed boat or Sea Plane to continue their journey to their chosen island.
Visa & Health Requirements for the Maldives
No visa requirements are necessary for the Maldives, all UK passport holders must have a valid passport with at least 6 months validity. Regular vaccinations are required and you should consult with your doctor to see if yours are up to date. General vaccinations to consider are up to date; Hepatitis A & B, typhoid, yellow Fever (if from yellow fever country), Tetanus-diphtheria, MMR and rabies.
