Thanks you for the arrangements you made for our recent trip to Florence, Siena and Pisa. I am pleased to say that the arrangements worked fine, no problems at all and you even managed to provide excellent weather!
The three hotels were of the expected standard. The Carolus in Florence was good and I would have no hesitation in recommending that to others. The Italia in Siena was was fine. it is about 20 minutes walk from the centre of Siena and a difficult uphill 10-15 minute walk from the station (no problems downhill) so I would advise a taxi for anyone arriving by train with heavy luggage.
The Villa Kinzica in Pisa was rather basic but adequate for one night. It is very handy for the leaning tower!
We were very fortunate that admission to the national museums was free in Florence while we were there for the last week in March. That, plus the good weather and absence of large numbers of tourists, made it an ideal time to visit the area.
I would certainly recommend this time of year for anyone wishing to visit those cities.

Looking for somewhere different to stay? Just 20 minutes north of Christ church you will find the Silverstream Alpaca Stud farm where you can get up close with the Alpacas. Weather in New Zealand - Best time to go The north of New Zealand is subtropical and the south temperate. The warmest months are December, January and February, and the coldest June, July and August. In summer, the average maximum temperature ranges between 20-30ºC and in winter between 10-15ºC.New Zealand Banks and Currency New Zealand's unit of currency is the New Zealand dollar (NZ$). In New Zealand, all motorists drive on the left-hand side of the road.
When turning left, give way (yield) to traffic crossing or approaching from your right.
When the traffic light is red, you must stop. There is no left turn rule as in North America.
The speed limit on the open road is 100km/h (approx 60m/h). In urban areas the speed limit is 50km/h.
Drivers and passengers must wear seat belts at all times, in both front and rear seats. You can legally drive in New Zealand for up to 12 months if you have either a current driver's licence from your home country or an International Driving Permit (IDP). Recent law changes mean all drivers, including visitors from other countries, must carry their licence or permit at all times when driving.
