Taj Hotel Dubai Review

Taj Hotel Dubai

Taj hotel Dubai is one of the new kids on the block, opening in May 2015 in the down-town Dubai area of Kalifa Boulevard. Offering 9 room types from lead-in Luxury Rooms to the Presidential Suite with Burj Kalifa views available on all 35 floors. It is certainly the perfect stop for a city visit to Dubai with a short transfer from the airport and easy access to all the markets. The hotel offers a choice of some fabulous restaurants and bars including the Bombay Brasserie and the Tree House Bar.

Taj Dubai Check-in

We arrive 3 hours late due to a technical fault with our plane and are welcome with a cool refreshing glass or rose water. A swipe of our credit card and moments later we are on our way being escorted to the 34th floor to our Club suite with Burj Kalifa Views.

The Rooms at Taj Hotel Dubai

Taj Hotel DubaiThe rooms are modern, with an Indian feel to them of soft shades of cream and brown with huge bathrooms.  A quirky glass wall in the bathroom that allows you to soak in your bath while admiring the views to Burj Kalifa. Toiletries are by Molton Brown and are generously displayed by the bath, sinks and large walk-in shower. There is a state of the art lighting system in place that took a few moments to work out but once mastered, the lighting was excellent.

The Views from Taj Hotel Dubai Rooms

Burj Kalifa Tower DubaiNow the view was something of a disappointment the night we arrived, the windows were dirty from the Sand.  Add to that the humidity outside killed a clear view of the tower. But as morning broke the view was better and we were able to lie in bed and marvel at the tallest building in the world. One point to make is that the windows are cleaned weekly from top to bottom.  On our day of departure we were surprised by the window cleaner dropping down to our window on the 34th floor.

Club lounge at Taj Hotel Dubai

white omlette TajThe club lounge is a wonderful tranquil place to take breakfast in the morning with a view of Kalifa Tower and the soon to be Opera house. A buffet of cold meets, cheese, pickles, cereal, cakes and pasties is available as well as a menu to order a variety of hot food. We tried the egg white and regular omelettes which were cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Afternoon tea consists of a choice of cakes, breads, cheese, salads and cold meets.

TAj Hotel Dubai Club Lounge Evening Drinks

Whilst in the evening drinks are served from 6.30 until 8pm with nibbles and snacks. This is where the Club room becomes of great value as the alcoholic drinks are all branded and there is an excellent choice of wines available. We opted for the Rose wine, a Cotes du Provence which was light and obviously easy to drink as we managed to drink one bottle plus a quarter of the way through another.

Our lounge hosts were attentive, friendly and charming, there when you needed them and out of sight when you didn’t. However part of this lounge could be chilled out more for the evening with softer lights, chill out music and dare I say it but more atmosphere. There is however the tree house if you want something more upbeat, but of course the club inclusions are not available outside the club, which seems unfair as a room key could easily identify for these benefits.

Taj Hotel Dubai Facilities

Taj Dubai Swimming PoolThe swimming pool, gym and spa are all situated on the 4th floor of the hotel as are the restaurants and tree house bar. The swimming pool area is in full sun most of the day until about 4pm as it drops behind the adjacent buildings, which is pretty good for a Dubai City Hotel. The coolest part to the sunbathing area is a sun lounger with a view of Kalifa tower.

Taj Dubai Sun lounger viewAt night the tree house is a popular night spot for drinks and selfies with the Kalifa Tower in the back ground. Breakfast can also be taken on this floor in the Tesoro restaurant with its conservatory style environment with olive trees providing shade from the daily sunshine and of course with views of the Kalifa Tower and down town Dubai.

Overall the Taj Dubai offers a fabulous relaxing stay with luxury accommodations and a good choice of hotel facilities. Go Easy Travel stayed at the Taj Dubai as part of a twin centre stay in Dubai with a beach extension to The Atlantis Resort Dubai.Call 0844 811 2550 for more details.
