The beach here is larger long white sands. Busier more people sunsets and a good choice hotel to consider is Capitan Suizo
Santa Teresa area hippy vegan yoga due style resort for a long time but now low key tourist areas. Eco-friendly and low-key. Long beaches bars restaurants and natural beauty. Good hotel choice Napita Hotel. Roads are not great if you drive from San Jose plan for 4 to 6 hours but there are flights.
Manuel Antonio a national park with a large horseshoe beach with properties dotted along the beach in the forest.
Arenas del Mar beachfront Rainforest hotel is an excellent choice to experience Costa Rica beach and forest. Very popular with the British.
The Caribbean coast is more backpacker style with little choice of properties with hot water. The weather is dryer on the Pacific coast. The Caribbean coast in the rainy season can rain for 6 to 8 weeks solid.
Accommodation is smaller and boutique-style, however, more hotels are being developed each year. For something different, look at Puerto Vjeco resort.
