Atlantis Palm Dubai sits at the very end of Dubai Palm Jumeirah Island offering 1539 rooms. Set in 113 acres and a staggering choice of 23 bars and restaurants. Offering 28 different cuisines from local Arabic fare to luxury Japanese experiences at the world-famous Nobu. Oh, and of course one amazing water park.

The Atlantis Palm Dubai opened in 2008 and was built as a resort offering guests every possible facility to enjoy without leaving the complex. Including the aquamarine park offering 65000 different marine creatures and an amazing waterpark entwined within the attraction.
Checkin at Atlantis the Palm Dubai
The reception of the hotel is enormous with a beautiful crystal water statue proudly taking CENTER place, reminding you that this resort is all about water. There are 15 check-in desks all roped up ready for you to form an orderly queue.
Checkin was not the fastest and a little painful as we were asked if we wanted a king bed or two twins. We chose a King but were then told the room allocated was twin beds as the hotel was full. In the confusion we are handed a map and key and sent on our way, this we learn is not the normal procedure and someone should have escorted us with our luggage. On arrival to our room we had been allocated a king bed!
The Rooms at The Atlantis Palm Dubai

Even the lead-in rooms are generous in size with a large bathroom and quirky sliding doors that slide open to expose the bath into the bedroom. There is a separate walk-in shower and toilet with a large mirror situated on the wall of the sink unit. A large balcony offers seating for two with a table but no sun lounger.
We were in the west wing and the balcony is in shade by 3.30 pm but you do have a good view of the swimming pool below. One note to consider is that the pool plays music all day with a rather lively DJ.
The east wing of the hotel offers views over the water park and of course to the rear of the hotel gives you ocean views and sunsets, but no view to the city. Other rooms to consider in the resort are club rooms giving access to a private lounge. The club lounge offers complimentary drinks and food. Suites with 2 bedrooms are available and perfect for large families. The hotel does offer interconnecting rooms and for a luxury experience, underwater suites.
Club lounge at Atlantis Palm Dubai
The club lounge is situated on the ground floor in the west wing and is available to guests staying in Imperial Club Rooms or any of the Suites. The room is cool and inviting offering lots of space to chill out and enjoy this additional service.
The Imperial Club lounge is open between 7:00 am and 11:00 pm, serving continental breakfast in the lounge between 7:00am and 11:00am. Guests can also receive complimentary breakfast in the Saffron restaurant. Afternoon tea is served between 3:00pm and 5:00pm, cocktails and canapés from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
Light snacks, tea, coffee, juices and soft drinks are also available as well as daily access from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm to Atlantis Kids Club (meals are chargeable). Club rooms include internet access in your room, use of the steam, sauna and jet pool facilities at ShuiQi Spa. You also benefit from a selection of international newspapers and magazines available within the lounge and exclusive spa offers.
Hotel Facilities at Atlantis Palm Dubai
It’s probably easier to list what the Atlantis doesn’t offer as this place has everything. From a massive waterpark (17 hectares I might add) water sports and 2 swimming pools. If water is not your thing, try the Tennis courts, ShuiQi Spa, 24 retail outlets, an adult-only night club, camel rides, and aquarium. Live shows, dolphin experience, and even a selfie with a sea lion, the list goes on and on.
The beach at Atlantis Palm Dubai
The beach at the Atlantis Palm Dubai is of course man-made and covers an area of 1.4km. It includes a VIP area beside Nasimi beach that is available to anyone spending a minimum of 150AED. This area in the evening turns into a great chill-out bar under the stars and is the spot to be for when their live DJ,s are in town.
Atlantis Palm Dubai For families
Atlantis Kids’ Club (3-12 years, potty trained only, open daily 10.00am-10.30pm). Includes Little Pirate’s Playground with soft play area, computer/games console area, Underwater Theatre, Creation Zone (for those children who love arts and crafts) and a Play Zone with climbing walls.

Overall the Atlantis Palm Dubai is not for everyone, although there were people of all ages at this hotel. There is lots of space to find your own quiet spot if tranquillity if that is what you are seeking. However, one thing to be said is that it is an experience worth embracing, the perfect choice for families and those that are still young at heart.
