There are 2 golf courses in the Turks and Caicos one a 9 hole and the other Provo Golf Club an 18 hole respected golf course in the Caribbean. The 9 hole course was designed by the Governor of the Turks and Caicos and built by volunteers. To play Waterloo golf club you just call the governor’s office but go early as the course is limited to 36 players at any one time.
Getting married in Turks and Caicos
The Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort offer free wedding moons throughout the year however in certain months (May, Sept, Oct) there is a charge of 700USD for government and administration charges. A weddingmoon with beaches resorts will include; buttonhole for the groom, bouquet for the bride, photographer, cake and sparkling wine, Certified marriage license, wedding planner, preparation of documents, and breakfast in bed the day after the wedding.
Legal documents required to get married in the Turks and Caicos
Passport, Original Birth Certificate
Both parties must be in The Turks and Caicos Islands at the time of the application.
Minimum residency required 1 day before an application for a Marriage License can be made to the Registrar in Grand Turk. The ceremony can then take place after a period of 2-3 days or at any time after the application has been granted.
Proof of marital status – If single a sworn affidavit is required. If one of the parties is a divorcee, then a Divorce Decree is required, either the original or a notarized copy, sealed by a Court Clerk.
In the case of a Widow/widower a Death Certificate of the previous spouse is required. In the case of change of name by Deed Poll or Adoption, then the proof is required.
If either party is unmarried, being a citizen or resident of a country other than the U.S.A., a declaration certifying this fact must be sworn before a Notary Public or other person authorized to administer oaths in that country and must accompany the application for the Marriage License.
If under the age of 21, then consent of one or both parents or guardian, in the form of an affidavit stamped by the Notary Public.
The marriage parties must not be within the prohibited degree of relationships to each other. Include a letter stating both parties’ occupations, marital status, age as of last birthday, present address of residence, and father’s full name.
For church weddings, Ministers may require proof of membership.
The parties must produce evidence of the date of their arrival in The Turks and Caicos Islands.
No blood test is necessary.
The fee for the license is $100.00.

The best time to visit the Turks and Caicos is in the months of November to April which avoids the heavy rains of the hurricane season which starts in June to November. Temperatures are constant at 28 to 32 degrees.
Getting to Turks and Caicos
British Airways offer a direct flight from London Gatwick airport with a flying time of approximately 11 and quarter hours. Alternative routes are via Miami or one other Caribbean island such as the Bahamas or Jamaica. Turks and Caicos work well with another Caribbean island so consider a two-center honeymoon in the Caribbean.
