Thanks you for the arrangements you made for our recent trip to Florence, Siena and Pisa. I am pleased to say that the arrangements worked fine, no problems at all and you even managed to provide excellent weather!
The three hotels were of the expected standard. The Carolus in Florence was good and I would have no hesitation in recommending that to others. The Italia in Siena was was fine. It is about 20 minutes walk from the centre of Siena and a difficult uphill 10-15 minute walk from the station (no problems downhill) so I would advise a taxi for anyone arriving by train with heavy luggage.
The Villa Kinzica in Pisa was rather basic but adequate for one night. It is very handy for the leaning tower!
We were very fortunate that admission to the national museums was free in Florence while we were there for the last week in March. That, plus the good weather and absence of large numbers of tourists, made it an ideal time to visit the area.
I would certainly recommend this time of year for anyone wishing to visit those cities.
